Spring is a Springing !

Spring is definitely Springing at PTMS. There are so many things that happen in the Spring Time. Our UIL Teams did great at competition and our Choir received ones. Congrats to Ms. McKnight for receiving our Teacher of the Year and Ashley Molina who wrote won the Beacon Award Essay Contest for the Essay about Lori Dunaway. Make sure you watch announcements coming from your student's teachers about STAAR tests, Field Days, Field Trips, CHAMPs parties, and 3 on 3 basketball tournaments. We have an amazing group of students and staff here and I wanted to show off some great photos.

Oh The Weather outside is Frightful !

The weather outside has become cold but things are heating up here at PTMS. You see the two Star Readers in our picture and this just represents 2 of the 730 star readers we have here at PTMS. The second semester has started with the staff and students taking a short break from Go Time but don't worry.... the new and improved version will be up and running soon. We also have UIL events heating things up. If your student is not already a part of one of our teams, have them ask their teacher where they could jump in and join.
I want to welcome Ms. Bridges to our 5th grade team. She has had a great start with the students and staff.

Also, I want to recognize the teachers who received our Awesome Tickets today for being awesome. Linda Wilcox, Kristina Sims, Cheryl Quada, Alfrecia Elder. Thanks for being Awesome!

At PTMS we are ready to "Go"!

Welcome to a new year at PTMS. We have had a very smooth start to the school year. Our 5th grade students are getting used to the transitions from class to class and are loving being treated like "Big Kids." We have been able to open up more options to our 5th grade students such as Art, Music, P.E., Computer literacy, Robotics, and many other exciting options.
Our 6th grade students are enjoying the freedom of transitioning on their own from class to class as well. The 6th grade students have many options as well including, Art, Choir, Band, Pre-Athletics, Robotics and many other exciting ventures as well.
One of the things that has created a buz around campus is the addition of "Go Time" this year for both 5th and 6th grade. When students show up to school early we no longer put them in a gym and make them sit there and be quiet. Our awesome teachers are using the time from 7:45 - 8:20 to share their own hobbies with the students which has become so exciting to the students they are begging parents to come to school early. Just a few of the things students get to experience in "Go Time" are: Google Trip, Robotics, Maker Space, Audio Visual productions, sewing, Latin dance, Latin and Spanish 101, Art Club, Twirling, Logic, Coding, Web design, Yoga, Future Teachers, and acting 101. These are a few of the great things our teachers have chosen to share with the kids.
We would love you to visit our campus and see for yourself what we already know makes PTMS so great.

The school year is speeding up???!!

Well most people say at the end of a year "the year is winding down." This is not the case at PTMS. We have so much going on around here. Field Days, Awards Assemblies, Trips to the Library, Trips to camp Gilmont, CHAMPs rewards parties, MegaBash Parties, End of year parties, projects being presented..... and the list goes on and on. We are so sad to say goodbye to the 6th graders, class of 2022, and wish them the very best at Pine Tree Jr. High. We are so excited to welcome the class of 2024 to our campus next year. We have some great opportunities for students here at PTMS next school year that we think you will love. Stay tuned over the summer as we reveal just a few. Until then.... Remember that you are Loved.

At Pine Tree Middle School we want the almost 700 students to know they are our main focus. Everyday the students are told that they are loved in the morning announcements. Because our focus is on the students, we focus on a balance of instruction, social skills, fine arts, and physical education. Because our students come from varying backgrounds, we have to be sensitive to their individual needs while servicing the student body as a whole. We desire for our students to be happy, healthy, and successful in learning and will keep those things the first priority. At Pine Tree Middle School we will continue to keep our focus on the students and remind them daily that "They are Loved."

Blog, Blog, Fiz, Fiz, Oh What a Great Place This is

Wow! So many great things going on at PTMS. Our students are all buzzing about how they can nominate their favorite teacher to win a free car. You can go to our website and click on Teacher Appreciation to find out more about how you can nominate your favorite teacher to possibly win a car from Patterson Nissan.
The students and teachers are gearing up for our first Mock STAAR test. On February the 1st and 2nd we will have a practice run at the STAAR tests that are given later this spring. This will be a great opportunity for the students to show off their madd science, reading, and math skills. You can help your student by making sure they have a good night's sleep the night before and getting them a good breakfast to start the day.  Here are interactive educational websites that you can access from home:
